On May 29, 2026, a portrait of Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, member of the Royal Linnean Society of London, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, member of three foreign academies (Slovakia, Czech Republic and Mongolia), Honorary Professor of the University of Nitra (Slovakia) and Lugansk Agricultural University, Professor was unveiled in the Gallery of Fame of Outstanding Scientists of the Agrophysical Research Institute. Genetics, Doctor of Biological Sciences Viktor Alexandrovich Dragavtsev. The solemn event was attended by Viktor Alexandrovich's daughter Galina Viktorovna and his grandson Mikhail, as well as employees of the Agrophysical Institute.
On May 28, 2026, Smolny hosted an award ceremony for the winners of the St. Petersburg Government Award for Outstanding Results in Science and Education for 2026. The event was timed to coincide with the City Day. In total, more than 70 people were awarded personalized prizes by the city government for outstanding scientific results in the field of science and technology, as well as for achievements in higher and secondary vocational education, including 21 prominent scientists and well–known figures of science and technology - representatives of various branches of science and scientific and technical fields. As Governor Alexander Beglov noted, science and new technologies are one of the ten priorities of St. Petersburg's development. "We are all continuing the work of Peter the Great, the one who created the great empire, Russia, and our beautiful city. Today, St. Petersburg is honourably fulfilling the President's instructions to strengthen the country's technological sovereignty," said Alexander Beglov, Governor of St. Petersburg, at the award ceremony.
On the day of the 81st anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Institute staff honored the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War, residents and defenders of besieged Leningrad and laid flowers at the Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery.
An open day was held at the Agrophysical Research Institute on April 28. The Institute was visited by both leading researchers and students. The guests enjoyed an extensive program with visits to laboratories and master classes. A detailed acquaintance with the institute's works in a popular scientific style allowed some to open up new opportunities for cooperation, and others to find a potential place for future scientific work. The staff of the AFI Federal State Budgetary Budgetary Institution reacted with great enthusiasm to the open day and were glad to meet new colleagues from the Central Museum of Soil Science named after V.V. Dokuchaev, the A.F. Ioffe Institute of Physics and Technology of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.

Dokuchaev, a branch of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution of the Federal Research Center "V.V. Dokuchaev Soil Institute" (CMP named after V.V. Dokuchaev) in the framework of the event from 30.03.2026 to 04/10.2026. the festival "To the museum – today, to science – tomorrow!".
The AFI Federal State Budgetary Budgetary Institution provided for display an original mock–up created by the hands of the institute's staff with a demonstration of the possibilities of using scalable phytotechnological complexes in the Arctic, as well as a small–sized vegetative device - a model of a phytotechnical complex - with growing lettuce, tomato, and pepina plants.
