Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences N.N. Dubenok and Chairman of the APRC Committee N.M. Sizykh (1996-2007) made welcoming remarks at the opening of the meeting.
After hearing the reports of the section participants and conducting an inspection of the fields and land reclamation facilities on the polder lands of Sputnik-Agro LLC, the section notes that the farm lands are located on depleted peat bogs and are part of a single land reclamation system with a total area of 2,400 hectares, on which projects in the 1970s and 80s provided for the installation of sliding plowing fields and agricultural irrigation fields for the disposal of sludge and clarified effluents of the pig breeding complex for 200 thousand heads of the state farm "Sputnik".
Since 2019, Sputnik-Agro LLC has been carrying out work on the reconstruction of the land reclamation system, as well as the development of fallow lands, on a total area of 1,095 hectares. Due to the fact that the modern specialization of the Sputnik-Agro Breeding Plant is the breeding of cattle of the Aberdeen Angus breed and differs from the specialization of the Sputnik state farm, the Melioration Section of the Scientific Council of the Federal State Budgetary Budgetary Institution of the Agrophysical Research Institute decided to recommend the management of Sputnik-Agro LLC:
1. Conduct a detailed soil reclamation survey of farm lands.
2. To determine the functional capabilities of the lands, taking into account the results of the soil reclamation survey.
3. To develop a project of on-farm land management for a comprehensive solution to the issues of organization and use of farm lands.
On April 22, 2025, on the territory of Sputnik-Agro LLC (Lepsari village, Vsevolozhsky district, Leningrad Region) A meeting of the land reclamation section of the Scientific Council of the FSBSI API was held. The section was attended by scientists and specialists of the Committee for the Agro-Industrial and Fisheries Complex of the Leningrad Region (the Committee of the Agro-Industrial Complex), LENVODPROEKT LLC, Leningradsky Central Research University, professors and teachers of the Timiryazev Russian State Agricultural Academy, St. Petersburg State University, FSBEI HE PGUPS, scientists of the AFI Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution.
