The II School for Young Agrophysicists “Energy for the Development of Agrophysics (ERA-2026)” was held at the Agrophysical Institute.

From September 17 to 18, 2026, the II School of Young Agrophysicists “Energy for the Development of Agrophysics (ERA-2026)” was held in St.Petersburg at the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution “Agrophysical Research Institute” (FSBSI AFI). The two day intensive programme combined lectures by leading scientists, laboratory master classes, a science quiz, and a major conference for young researchers in the fields of agro- and biotechnologies, plant biophysics and biochemistry, land reclamation and agro-climate, modelling of agroecosystems, physiology, genetics and plant breeding, and soil physics and physicochemical chemistry.

Organizers and participants The II School of Young Agrophysicists “Energy for the Development of Agrophysics (ERA 2026)” was held by the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution AFIP in cooperation with the Council of Young Scientists of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution AFIP; the co organizers were the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the St.Petersburg Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Council of Young Scientists of the SPbO RAS.

Young scientists from 17 research and educational institutions in Volgograd, Kirov, Krasnoyarsk, Kursk, Moscow and the Moscow Region, Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Simferopol, the Tver Region, and Khabarovsk presented the results of their research-ranging from soil physics in the regions of our country to simulators of lunar regolith, from plant productivity under natural conditions to city farming and managed agroecosystems, from modeling water and energy exchange in soils to long-term studies of the physical properties of agrolandscapes.

The next major event in the calendar of the AFI Federal State Budgetary Budgetary Institution is the VI International Scientific Conference "Trends in the development of Agrophysics: from current problems of agriculture and crop production to technologies of the Future", dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Federal State Budgetary Budgetary Institution Agrophysical Research Institute.
